Frequently Asked Question

There are two (2) separate IT accounts that you need to maintain – 1. Clay County Schools Google Account, and 2. CCS Account. When you change your password for one account, it will not automatically change your password for the other account.

1. Clay County Schools Google Account

G Suite is a suite of hosted communication and collaboration applications designed for education environments that includes email, calendaring, and several integrated collaboration tools (e.g. Google Drive, Google Team Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Sites, and video chat).

A Clay County Schools Google Account is different from a personal Gmail email address. Your Clay County Schools Google Account email address will have the format of firstname.lastname@clayschools.org for staff and faculty members. This account is managed by Clay County Schools Technology staff.

Browse to https://mail.google.com to log in to your Clay County Schools Google Account. If it is your first time to log in, use the username and password we provided to you. After you are logged in for the first time, you will be prompted to change your password.

All school employees must enable 2 Step Verification for their Google Account.  Follow the directions below to not get locked out of your account.

2-Step Verification

1. Open your Google Account.
2. In the navigation panel, select Security.
3. Under “Signing in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification Get started.
4. Follow the on-screen steps.

2. CCS Account

Your CCS Account login enables you to access various Active Directory (AD) driven accounts, your PC, laptop, Classlink, etc... This should be your email address without the @clayschools.org at the end.

You must use the username and password issued to you by CCS Technology to log in. After you log in for the first time, you will be asked to change your password.
